Scenario I. The beach in Southern Maine.

You are walking along a sandy beach in southern Maine during the month of July. The temperature is 90 degrees and the ocean breeze feels wonderful. All of a sudden something strikes you as being odd, and a strange feeling comes over you. You look around. The sky is blue, not a cloud in sight. Kids are playing in the sand. Sun worshipers are basking......But no one is swimming! You ask yourself why? Why, because there is NO water. The tide is really out. Way out! So far out that you can only see a dark line on the horizon.

Using scientific deduction and methodology come up with possible answers for what has happened. Make sure to back up your answers or assumptions with as many real scientific facts as possible.
